I am wearing a monitor, what should I know?

You should know that there are limitations associated with monitoring systems. Trained sleep technicians are traditionally required to properly prep patients and attach the leads. Almost ten years ago my initial sleep test was an at-home test that involved attaching more than half a dozen electronic leads attached to connectors I was instructed to stick to my skin to measure breathing, snoring, muscles, etc. Supposedly newer, easy to use home sleep study equipment is supposedly now available that claim to produce accurate tests 99 percent of the time. Make sure you understand what is required by you in order to achieve an accurate test.
